Meet our Leaders
Rev. Phil Hardwick (Senior Pastor)
Pastor Phil has served churches as a pastor for over four decades in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Massachusetts in several traditions: Southern Baptist, United Methodist and the United Church of Christ. He was educated in Baptist schools and studied abroad with the American Summer Institute in Les Avant, Switzerland. He has a passion for preaching and pastoral ministries and is a contemplative activist, serving on the board of Contemplative Outreach of Boston. His daily spiritual practices include centering prayer, lectio divina, walking meditation, sacred chant, and the loving kindness meditation. He loves to read, travel, socialize with friends, and enjoy New England sports.
Mike Paduch (Elder)
Mike is a lifelong resident of Carver, and has been serving at the church since 1981. Mike loves to explore the Bible and teach others to follow Jesus. He has led adult classes for over twenty years and currently leads the men's group, "Ironmen." Mike lives in Carver where he and his wife, Margaret, grow flowers, cranberries, and Christians.
Robert Sullivan (Associate Pastor/Elder)
Bob has been part of the church for many years and serves as the church Worship Leader. Bob is a former Special Education teacher who taught in the Taunton School system for almost 27 years. Bob received his MDiv from Southern Seminary in 2005. Bob has been married to Debbie for 41 years. They have a son, Jesse, who is married to Miranda. They are blessed with two grandchildren, Jude and Max.
Peter Martin (Elder)
Peter has been a member of Church of the Vine for more than 10 years. He has served in many roles including small group leader, chairman of the Finance Committee and children's church leader. Peter also facilitates the Evangelism course for new members. He is married to Liz and they have two married children, Derek is married to Jennifer and resides in California. Erin is married to David Friday and they have two daughters – Karly and Lexi.
Sandra Coelho (Church Administrator/Elder)
Sandy has been back at the church for about 5 years. She volunteers as the church administrator and she coordinates the administrative tasks that need to be done to keep the church running smoothly. She loves to teach and leads the Wednesday morning Ladies Bible Study as well as a small group with her husband, Gerry. In her spare time, Sandy seeks places to commune with the Holy and also loves spending time with good friends.
